Nakumatt branch closure

05 March 2013, 18:11

Nairobi - Supermarket chain Nakumatt has decided to close all its branches, including their 24hour ones, from 7pm Tuesday evening.

The management took the move following the prevailing transport hitches in Nairobi City and various other parts of the country, in the best interest of their staff and customers.

All branches will reopen on Wednesday at 8:30am for normal business operations, and they remain optimistic that the transport situation will improve to enable their 5 200 employees’ easy movement.

Prior to reaching this decision, their efforts to retain the services of private transport operators for the better part of Monday prooved futile and it is for that reason that the supermarket chain opted to place the safety and comfort of their staff first.

Nakumatt apologized for any convenience caused to their customers.
