US affirms its trade ties with Kenya

Nairobi - The United States has denied claims that it is trying to block China's investments as it lobbies for its investments agreements with east African countries.

According to Capital News reports, US Assistant Secretary of Commerce Michael Camunez said there is no business competition between China and the US since the countries in the region have freedom to choose who to partner with.

Speaking during his 10-day tour of the region Camunez said US has always focused on humanitarian aid among other projects, as opposed to China which has invested much on infrastructure, electronic business and also the media.
