Man assaults lover's husband

05 March 2013, 18:25 Kelvin Mureithi

Police are looking for a man who is alleged to have attempted to assault the husband of his lover in Gitimbine town, Meru County, after he found him cheating with his wife.

According to neighbors, they were alerted by screams from the house and later on saw an unknown assailant escaping through the back door.

They rushed to the house only to find another man laying on the floor nose bleeding as he tried to pull himself up. He had a rope around his neck.

It is said that the victim who is 25 years old and thought to be drunk had visited his estranged lover before colliding with the husband.

The woman who was in the center of controversy, explained that the man was his husband while the man who tried to assault him was his boyfriend.

The area chief however promised to arrest the culprits but urged the locals to be faithful to their partners.
