Leaders urge Baringo residents to shun violence

Days after fighting broke out in Baringo County between two communities, a group by the name Baringo Professionals has come out strongly condemning the killings, that took place over the weekend at Arabal in Marigat district and Baringo county, where two people were killed and hundreds of livestock stolen.

Speaking on behalf of the their group in Nakuru town today, Daniel Rotich Kindagor who is the chairman of the group said that, the two communities that engaged each other into war should shun violence as that will result into lost of lives bearing in mind this is an election year. Instead, Kindagor urged the local communities to embrace peace and love in order to subsist in harmony.

“At this time it’s not right for anyone to loose his or her life over violence that does not help anyone instead the communities should stay together inorder to improve the economy of Baringo County” Kindagor said.

Kindagor went on to add that their group is more united on the ground and that they are against all forms of theft and violence that could be going on in that area, urging the government to increase police personnel’s in the area, in order to avoid feature clashes that took place last Friday.
