Nyong’o wins opponent's support

29 January 2013, 15:13 Oduor Omondi

Medical Services Minister Prof Peter Ayang' Nyong’o bid for Kisumu senatorial seat received a major boost on Monday after his strongest opponent Eng. Ocholla Ogoda formally threw his weight behind him.

Ogoda who had previously claimed that the had been ‘rigged out’ during the ODM nominations said he stepped aside in respect to the party’s decision and had no bone to chew with the party.

"I have accepted the verdict of the party and hereby urge my supporters to support the party to ensure victory for ODM and Cord in the forth-coming General Election,” he said.

He said he won’t relent in campaigning for CORD presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

He thanked residents for the confidence they showed during the nominations and promised to work with Prof Nyong’o for the growth of the county.
