One killed in a gangster attack in Laikipia

Laikipia - A 60 year old man was shot dead while two others sustained serious injuries when they encountered with heavily armed gangsters at Muthengera location in Laikipia West.

Kariuki Wangaye was shot dead as he rushed to rescue a 14-year-old John Nyaga who had been threatened by gangsters inside a shop on Sunday night.

In the melee, Nyaga was shot on the hand.

According to sources, 40 year old Samuel Thuku who also responded to the boy’s call was shot on the leg.

The five member gang stormed the shop and stole six mobile phones and KES 700.

The victims went to the nearby Gatero police post but no officer was present.
