Stolen car recovered in Laikipia

13 February 2013, 17:24 James Kabotia

Police in Laikipia have arrested three suspects alleged to have stolen a motor vehicle belonging to the brother of Igembe South Mp on Tuesday.

Speaking to media at Nanyuki police station, the driver of Charles Linturi a brother to Mithika Linturi the Igembe South Member of Parliament says that the double cabin pick-up was stolen from a car wash near Silent Hotel in Nanyuki town.

“I left the vehicle at the car wash and opted to pick it up after two hours. When I was having my lunch at a hotel, the car wash owner called me saying that the vehicle had been stolen by unknown persons,” says Francis Maina Wambugu, Linturi’s driver.

Maina adds that he had immediately reported to the Nanyuki police station that a white Toyota Double cabin pick-up registration number KAS 911T had been stolen at the said car wash.

Laikipia East deputy police boss Morris Guddah confirmed that three suspects connected to the theft including the car wash owner were arrested, adding that investigations are underway over the matter.
