Avoid inflammatory utterances

Council of Elders from two large communities in Rift Valley have formed a 10 - men advisory council that will seek to offer advise on peace related issues in the run up to the polls day next month.

The council of elders further urged Kenyans to remain in their places of registration saying this year's general elections will be conducted in a peaceful manner unlike the 2007 polls.

Speaking during a press briefing in Nakuru on Wednesday, Kalenjin council of elder John Saii pointed out that the government had beefed up security in the entire Rift Valley region ahead of the forth coming general elections.

“We ask all Kenyans to remain where they were registered until they carry out their democratic right of voting. We discourage any movements of people from their homes for fear of insecurity,” said John Saii.

At the same time, Saii called politicians to refrain from speaking ill of their opponents saying such kind of leaders risked being barred from contesting in the march 4th general elections.

“Politicians should stop making any inflammatory utterances sentiments against their fellow political opponents because it's not good for this Nation,” said the Kalenjin leader.
