The Orange Democratic Movement party Member of Parliament for Bomachoge Simon Ogari has criticized Prime Minister Raila Odinga over his utterances the fate of Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto.

Ogari said most Kenyans were sympathetic with those having cases at the International Criminal Court and that they were innocent until proven guilty and should not be condemned.

“ We should be praying for them instead of condemning them and also allow the law to take its course” he said.

The MP who is also an assistant Minister in the Ministry of Transport said all Kenyans should be sober and carefully over the ICC issue so that the country is not polarised along tribal lines.

Ogari spoke in Nakuru when he received a cheques of KES 500,000 from former President Moi towards Kerongori Secondary School based in his constituency in Kisii County. The cheque was brought by Joseph Rotich on behalf of the former head of State.

The MP said it was paramount that Kenyans learn to forge development activities and not all the time engage in politicking.

“We should forget our political affiliations and engage in development matters if the country has to move forward” he said.

The habit of leaders engaging in politics immediately after an election is regrettable and should be discouraged.

Speaking about the next General elections, Ogari said majority of Kenyans wanted the exercise to be held in December this year and told the two principals President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga should consult and announce the election date.
