Strathmore lose to Impala

22 February 2012, 11:27Michael Kwambo

Match day eleven in the 2011/2012 Kenya Cup continued to serve up its share of drama, the league leadership changing hands yet again as the Strathmore Leos. Pace setters heading into the weekend’s action succumbed to a 13-8 defeat at the hands of their hosts Impala, gifting KCB, the beneficiaries of a close 6-3 home win over visiting Homeboyz RFC, Kenya Cup leadership for the next seven days at the very least.

Nondescript RUFC turned the tables on Mwamba RFC, pulling off a 23-12 bonus point away win while Nakuru RFC also registered a bonus win, a hard fought one though, as they beat Kisumu RFC 33-18 at the Kisumu Polytechnic.

The featured match saw hosts and reigning league champs Lunch Bar Quins register a 42-0 over Mean Machine at the RFUEA. Man of the match Chris Oduor scored the first of his three tries in early first half with Victor Sudi converting for a 7-0 score line. Machine old boy Wilson Kopondo would ground the second from a maul while an Isaac Adimo drop goal and a Sudi penalty saw Quins take an 18-0 lead into the interval.
