Two perish in car accident

24 January 2013, 14:49 Wangui Joseph

Two businessmen from Nanyuki perished on Wednesday morning after their car rolled several times and landed in a ditch at Karichenni along Nyeri - Nanyuki  road.

The duo was said to have been traveling from Nairobi towards Nanyuki at wee hours of Wednesday morning when their classic Passatt car lost control following the bursting of the front tire.

The car was on a high speed and rolled several times before landing in a ditch.

Confirming the incident, Nyeri police boss Kirunya Limbitu said that the two died on the spot.

The two were renowned businessmen from Nanyuki and owned several business premises in the town.

Their bodies were moved to Nyeri provincial General hospital waiting postmortem.

The car remains were towed to Nyeri Police Station.
