Two children drown while playing

14 February 2013, 13:55 Kelvin Wanjohi

Two children drowned in an open well in Kaimbaga location in Olkalou on Wednesday morning.

According to Nyandarua North OCPD Benjamin Onsongo, Ann Nyambura aged 9 and John Macharia aged 2 years fell into the open well while playing in their parent’s compound.

The police boss said that they suspect that the double tragedy occurred when one of the children tried to save the other who had fallen into the well.

He said that their parents who were not at home during the incident mounted a search for them everywhere to no avail, but their bodies were later found floating in the well by their father.

The bodies were taken at the J.M Kariuki District Memorial Hospital Mortuary.
