Uhuru condemns mungiki threats

21 February 2013, 13:51 Steve Wambugu

Jubilee Alliance Presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta and his running mate William Ruto have called out on police to carry out an investigation against the threats made to Chief Justice Willy Mutunga from the outlawed Mungiki sect.

The duo said police have to bring to book those behind the threats issued against the CJ saying no one has a right to threaten others especially to any member of the judiciary system.

“We want those behind the threats to be arrested immediately,” said Uhuru.

While addressing a gathering at Rongai constituency in Nakuru County on Wednesday afternoon, Kenyatta further said Kenya was a democratic country and that his government will strive to ensure there freedom in the country.

The Deputy Prime Minister also urged the Rongai electorates to vote for Jubilee Alliance saying his government will help grow the economy in Nakuru county as well as the entire country.

“We ask for your votes because we believe we can improve the economy of this county and country as well,” said Uhuru.

The Jubilee flag bearer also pointed out that Kenyans need to listen to the policies of each and every Presidential candidate before the March 4th general elections while noting that only the electorates hold the final say on who should be the 4th President of Kenya.

Uhuru Kenyatta's running mate William Ruto said that Kenyans needed leaders who will take the country to the next level.

He further noted that the old generation had over stayed their time at the helm of Kenyan leadership, saying it was the time for the digital generation to take over.

Ruto also called Kenyans to turn out in large numbers on the voting day if change was to be realized in the country.

“On the voting day, we want you to come out in large numbers and bring the change we want to see happening in our country,” said Ruto.
