17 election police commanders appointed by Kimaiyo

Nairobi - The Standard reports senior police officers have been appointed by Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo to serve as election commanders ahead of the polls. 

17 other officers were also appointed as deputies to the election commanders.

The officers will work with a similar number of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission regional co-coordinators in a move aimed at ensuring security and peace during the elections.
