KHRC to launch gay and lesbian awards

Nairobi - The Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) and the National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (NGLHRC) will on Saturday launch the first gay and lesbian awards.

According to the Standard, the event will honour Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transsexual, Intersex and Queer (LGBTIQ) individuals for their contributions to the Kenyan Society.

The event, to be held at Charter Hall, Nairobi, will also see politicians; employers and journalists who are committed to advancing equality and social acceptance for LGBTIQ individuals in Kenya awarded.
