Kimaiyo sworn in as top cop

Nairobi - David Kimaiyo, a former director of police operations, has been sworn in as the Inspector - General of Police.

Kimaiyo's first assignment will be to join a security team led by Internal Security minister Katoo ole Metito that will travel to Tana River County, Daily Nation reports.

The recent skirmishes in the area has left 40 people dead with the number feared to rise.
