Knut calls off the planned teachers' strike

Nairobi - The Standard reports the planned nationwide teachers’ strike that had been called by Kenya National Union of Teachers has been suspended. 

According to the union’s acting secretary general Xaphia Nyamu teachers were asked to bear with the decision as they wait for the degazettement of the controversial legal notices.

The strike had been scheduled to begin on Monday.
