Police issue ban on demonstrations

Nairobi - The Standard reports as Kenyans eagerly await for the announcement of election results, the police have banned demonstrations to protest the results.

Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo has issued a warning saying any attempts to mobilize the public to demonstrate in the streets against election outcome will not be tolerated.

According to him, those wishing to hold protests should first notify police before doing so.
