Register your domestic worker

24 February 2012, 12:42

Nairobi - Employers have got a reprieve as the period set aside for Kenyans to register their domestic workers under the National Hospital Insurance Fund(NHIF) has been extended to March.

Micro Insurance and Sponsored Programmes Manager of Operations Richard Sigey told Capital News that employers are expected to submit a flat rate of KES160 per month for their domestic workers.

Sigey said that their interest is not actually to punish anybody but to see that Kenya attains what is called universal healthcare and they are using any intervention to ensure that all have a way of paying.
