Student commits suicide in police cell

Migori - Police are investigating an incidence where a secondary school student committed suicide inside Giribe Police Station cells in Migori county.

The Standard reports the form three student at Magongo-Ribe Secondary School, is believed to have been arrested on Thursday midday on suspicion that he had stolen a sack of tobacco leaves belonging to his uncle.

Police at the station said it was the uncle who called the police to report that the boy had stolen his dried tobacco leaves from a store.
