Beth Mugo drops Nairobi senator bid

06 December 2012, 14:11

Nairobi - Public Health minister Beth Mugo has bowed out of the Nairobi County senatorial race on health grounds.

Daily Nation reports that her decision leaves Makadara MP Mike "Sonko" Mbuvi as the sole candidate vying for the senator seat on a TNA ticket.

Mugo’s personal physician Robert Mathenge said local and US doctors who have been treating the minister for breast cancer had recommended she drops out of the race due to the "vigorous nature" of the campaign.
