Twenty-three athletes from five sports tested positive for banned drugs in re-checks of 265 samples from the 2012 London Olympics, the International Olympic Committee said on Friday.
Kenyan lawmakers passed Thursday amendments to an anti-doping bill to avoid a possible Olympics ban after being ruled non-compliant by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The Kenyan women volleyball team is confident of qualifying for the Rio 2016 Olympics by winning the FIVB World Qualifiers in Puerto Rico this weekend.
Kenya hopes that in two months they will have amended the World Anti-Doping Law to conform with the international standard.
In Kenya's western town of Iten, known as the "Home of Champions" for drawing runners to train from around the world, athletes rise to pound the track and dirt roads at dawn.
