Police probe Chelsea coins incident

18 March 2013, 12:29

London -  Police launched an investigation on Sunday after coins were thrown at Frank Lampard and John Terry during Chelsea's 2-0 win over West Ham at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard, a former West Ham player, celebrated his 19th-minute goal – his 200th for Chelsea – in front of the away end along with substitute Terry where objects were hurled at them.

"We are investigating instances of coin-throwing at Chelsea verses West Ham on Sunday, March 17. There have been no arrests. Inquiries continue," said a police spokesman.
