Sofapaka close gap on Leopards

06 March 2012, 17:28 Collins Okinyo

Nairobi - Sofapaka edged out Rangers 2-1 in a closely fought encounter at Nyayo Stadium on Monday evening.

Sofapaka opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Abdalla Juma scored with a sublime freekick from 30 yards out that left Rangers keeper Victor Omondi sprawled for a 1-0 halftime lead.

Rangers got back in the game in the 57th minute when Michael Ochieng produced a slice of brilliance to put Rangers level beating two defenders before curling in a wonderful shot that Sofapaka keeper Duncan Ochieng had no chance of saving.
